ROLE

UX designer

DISCIPLINE

Experience design

I worked with AKQA on a proposed sports bra selection experience for Nike.com, reviewing and refining the creative team's concept before it was presented to the client.

My role was to define the key customer journeys, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure the experience supported different shopping needs, from customers who knew exactly what they wanted to those needing guidance on fit and suitability.

Understanding customer needs

Understanding customer needs

Conducted an informal customer survey and reviewed Nike’s website and competitor fitting tools. Used the findings to evaluate the creative concept, identify gaps and recommend improvements through annotated user journeys.

Designing personalised journeys

Designing personalised journeys

Developed a four-step ‘Get fitted’ journey, inspired by in-store guidance, to recommend bras based on size and sport. Added browsing and filtering for confident shoppers, with educational content to support informed choices.

Identifying a gap in the journey

Identifying a gap in the journey

Identified a gap in the creative concept: the follow-up fit test offered no support if a bra didn't fit. Proposed extending the journey with alternative recommendations, further fitting guidance and returns support.

The outcome

A more complete customer journey

A more complete customer journey

Tested the revised journeys with a small group of users and worked with the creative team to refine the proposition before its presentation to Nike. The result was a more considered, customer-centred concept that supported product discovery, fitting advice and post-purchase needs.
